International Office

Would you like to study or do an internship abroad for one semester? Or maybe you are a foreign student and need information about living and studying in Bern or Biel/Bienne? Then the International Office at HKB can help you. HKB is associated with a number of universities abroad and works with international partners. HKB also participates in the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP), formerly known as Erasmus.

Equal opportunity and inclusion

Equal opportunity is one of the basic tenets at a university. This is why there are several projects and measures at HKB regarding the compatibility of studies, work and family; on career topics; and on incorporating gender perspectives in teaching and research. HKB has specific offers enabling students with disabilities to study without barriers. Provided the usual admission criteria are fulfilled, physical or psychological impairments as well as chronic diseases should not constitute an obstacle to studying at HKB. The Office for Equality and Inclusion can answer questions on these topics.

Bern Higher Education Counselling Centre

The counselling centre advises students on course selection, career issues, difficulties with financing studies, and personal difficulties and crises. The counselling is free of charge. For consultations and coaching, you can make an appointment by phone or in person at the office. For the workshops, it is also possible to register online.

Childcare

BFH is a member of the Association of Childcare Services. It offers members of the university community a limited number of places in daycare centres. You can find information on the BFH intranet.
