IS-Academia, or IS-A for short

Log in to the student administration system IS-A (login with username and password) to do the following tasks:

  • Register for courses/modules

  • Print your Transcript of Records

  • Print Study Confirmations

  • Fill out the form to receive a student discount on a GA (Generalabonnement = public transport pass) for the SBB (Swiss Federal Railways). (You will then need to print out the pass and get it signed at the Administration Office.)

  • Update your address data.

Intranet

The intranet (login with username and password) is the internal BFH and HKB platform. Most degree programmes provide their central documents here (module plans, curricula, timetables, etc.). Under “Direct Access” > “Applications”, you will find links to the applications mentioned in this guide (IS-Academia, Moodle, etc.).

Also on the intranet is an internal BFH marketplace for posting private classified ads: from rooms in flat shares to books and videos, a wide variety of things are on offer here.

Moodle Learning Platform

The online learning platform Moodle (login with username and password) to change your BFH password, forward your HKB emails to an external email account or block your BFHcard.

Selfhelp

You can use the selfhelp portal (Login mit Kürzel und Passwort) kannst du dein BFH-Passwort ändern, die HKB-E-Mails an ein externes E-Mail-Konto weiterleiten sowie deine BFHcard sperren.

IT Services/Wi-Fi

On most campuses, computers are available for students to use. The university buildings are equipped with Wi-Fi (bfh). You can also surf the internet for free at other universities in Switzerland with your BFH username and password via mobile hotspots. Printing

Printers and copy machines are available on all campuses, where you can print and make copies using your BFHcard. The BFHcard must first be charged with credit at a charging station. For information on rates and locations of these devices, see the HKB intranet.

IT-Support

IT Support provides help with computer problems or questions via an online trouble ticket, email or phone.

Discounts

Discounted hardware is offered twice a year at the beginning of the semester: projektneptun.ch. For discounted software, log in to “Berner Fachhochschule” with your username and password: studyhouse.ch. BFH offers the Microsoft Office package free of charge; see the HKB intranet .
